About this Page

Across the internet, I’m known as Notsophism, but you may call me Notts for short. I am a type 1 diabetic on the autism spectrum, and both conditions are united by generalized anxiety; all of them affect each other in many ways. While this brutal union is nothing I can’t handle, it took many life experiences—some good, and some bad--to learn how to play upon my strengths and whip my limitations into submission.

Here on The Neurodivergent Diabetic, I discuss how I deal with my issues directly, how they filter my perception of the surrounding world, and even my identity. I also cite and analyze the media that has shaped my philosophies in dealing with my challenges. It all convenes into an intentionally unconventional blog, befitting the eccentric person I am.

It took me a while to build the confidence to initiate this project, but I realized my perspective has value. There are lessons one can derive from what I write, just like there are lessons I derived from even the smallest details of my life. This is a safe space for both my fellow neurodivergent people with co-occurring conditions and their loved ones who wish to help them out.

I appreciate your company and hope my blog helps you in some way, big or small. Feel free to spread the posts around.
